MUMBAI: The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) plans to develop 100 acres of land into a housing project in collaboration with Mhada at Lothivali near Panvel. MSRDC officials said that the project, to come up near the Mumbai Pune Expressway, would be a township with all amenities and would be sold at
market rates.
MSRDC officials said that the move was aimed at raising funds for the corporation, which can be further used in development projects for the city and state.

They pointed out that the organization is planning several large projects in the next two years.
As MSRDC does not have experience in building townships, collaboration with Mhada was essential, said the officials.
Among the projects being developed by MSRDC in the state are the mass rapid transit system for Thane city, Nanded city road development project and Nandurbar integrated road development project.
In Mumbai, it is developing the Western Freeway sea link, passenger water transport project, Versova Bandra sea link, widening and improvement of Sion-Panvel Highway, among others.
