Motor theft cell gets more policemen
MUMBAI: The anti-motor vehicle theft (AMVT) cell of the Mumbai crime branch is all set to get 10 more policemen, taking the total strength to 35. Senior inspector Prashant Bagade, who earlier headed Unit IX of the crime branch (Bandra), will now be in charge of the cell. The other personnel include two inspectors, two sub-inspectors and six policemen.
Bagade will also head the anti-robbery squad whose additional charge was with inspector Vijay Salaskar, who will now head the anti-extortion cell (AEC).

Inpsector Nitin Alaknure and sub-inspectors Satish Mayekar, Sanjeev Dhuman and S D Dalvi will be part of the cell.
Inspector Ashok Kamat, who was the senior inspector with the Unit XII (Dahisar), will be in charge of the Bandra unit. Kamat will be replaced by Milid Khetle who was an inspector with Unit XI. Inspector B R Kadam has been shifted from Unit VII to crime intelligence unit (logistic). S M Kamble will head the Ghatkopar unit.
