MUMBAI: City planners are now planning food courts at business districts that will cater to middle class tastes. Such eateries will soon come up at the Bandra-Kurla Complex and at the new business district planned at Wadala.
MMRDA commissioner, Ratnakar Gaikwad, said they will be develop a second food court at the BKC on a plot next to the Asian Heart Institute.

Besides, several food courts have been planned for the business district coming up at Wadala.
"We will take care to cater to the middle class segment in our food courts as the lack of eating places at business districts like Nariman Point drives people to buy from hawkers," the MMRDA chief said.
Pankaj Joshi, director of the Urban Design Research Institute says it is a good move. "Look at the Ballard Estate area,which is a 100-year-old business district, but there are no eating houses for middle class groups, so hawkers do brisk business," he said.
