Minor assaulted with stone by live-in partner, FIR registered in Mumbai
MUMBAI: Amboli Police have registered an FIR of kidnapping and grievous assault against a young man and are looking for him after he brutally assaulted an underage girl with whom he had been living in since last year.
The 16-year-old girl has been hospitalised with severe injuries to her face and jaw due to which she isn't able to speak properly, besides other injuries.
Police said the victim used to live with her aunt, uncle and cousins in Jogeshwari as her parents passed away when she was little. She told her aunt and uncle that she was in a relationship with one Vijay.
In Nov 2025, Vijay took her away with him to Surat. Two days later, she called up her aunt and informed her where she was. She also told her aunt that she had borrowed the latter's earrings and would return them once she was back in Mumbai.
The next time her aunt met her was in April 2026. The victim visited her aunt and told her that Vijay had brought her back to Mumbai and they were living together. However, as Vijay's family had not accepted their match, the two had no fixed place of residence. The victim added that Vijay would harass her and assault her as he doubted her fidelity.
On June 10, her aunt received a call from the cops and learnt that the victim had been admitted to Trauma Care Hospital at Jogeshwari. Her jaw was injured and she couldnt speak properly. She whispered to her aunt that Vijay had assaulted her with a stone.
Her aunt found out that on June 8, Vijay had assaulted her brutally on her face, forehead and lips with a stone and rained kicks and blows on her at Mhatarpada in Amboli. Her aunt lodged a complaint with Amboli Police following which an FIR was registered against Vijay.
