Miffy comes to Mumbai: MuSo wins int’l award

Mumbai: Miffy, the world-famous fictional rabbit created by Dutch artist Dick Bruna, recently flew from Tokyo to Mumbai to live in Lower Parel for a year. The Museum of Solutions (MuSo)—a not-for-profit children's museum located in the heart of Mumbai— has just become the first Indian museum to win the prestigious ‘Hands On! Children in Museums' Award, which includes a bronze trophy of the cartoon character.Established in 2011 by the European Museum Academy—a non-profit that promotes the conception and development of new and traditional museums as tools of social change—and the Hands On! International Association of Children in Museums, an organisation that supports the important role of children's museums as centres where play inspires creativity, informal, and lifelong learning, the award recognises excellence among children's museums globally.Competing with 32 museums from 17 countries, MuSo stood out among six finalists, receiving a Euro 7,500 cash prize (around Rs 7 lakh) and a statue of Miffy.tnn
