Vikas Walkar, father of Shraddha Walkar who was allegedly murdered by her live-in-partner Aaftab Poonawala in Delhi in May, on Friday met the newly appointed Mira-Bhayander Vasai-Virar (MBVV) police commissioner Madhukar Pandey and demanded action against Tuling and Manickpur police stations for not taking cognisance of his daughter's domestic violence complaint in November 2020.
Vikas was accompanied by BJP leader Kirit Somaiya.
Walkar, in a press conference on December 9, had said that his daughter would have been alive if the police had acted on her 2020 complaint in which she had expressed fears that Aaftab would kill her and chop her body. A departmental inquiry was initiated at the behest of deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis.
Shraddha was living with Aaftab in Vasai (E) since 2019. She had a strained relationship with her father, who had separated from his wife. The mother passed away in January 2020. Shraddha's parents were against her relationship.
