Many areas of Mumbai flooded after heavy rains

MUMBAI: Many city areas were flooded after continuous rainfall on Sunday. In some places society residents were unable to come out as the streets were flooded.

Waterlogging

was reported on many roads but there was no major traffic diversion. The

BMC disaster management

have stated that they have started water pumps to throw the rain water into the sea to reduce waterlogging.

They claimed that waterlogging was reported for longer period on Sunday only in two places - at Andheri Subway and Bandra (West). However, citizens reported of waterlogging in various part of the city.



A Mukund Society member said that they are unable to move out of their houses as their compound is flooded with rain water because of choked nallah. The

BMC

disaster management team members visited the society and said that they will clear the chock once it stops raining.
