MUMBAI: Two persons have been booked for allegedly threatening a Malad resident, Ramesh Kashyap (27), and demanding money from him. Unable to bear the torture, Kashyap on Friday tried to kill himself by drinking phenyl. He is recuperating at a hospital. Incidentally, he had lodged a non-cognizable complaint against the accused a day before he tried to kill himself.
Kashyap resides in Valnai colony with his parents and brother. He had recently quit work at his family’s insistence as his employer would visit bars after work and ask him to accompany him. “Kashyap had said he owed some bars money and the accused were threatening him to return it. They had warned him of dire consequences. On one occasion, they had taken Kashyap to an office in Malad and snatched his cellphone and cash,” said an officer.
