Man intervenes in fight, killed

Mumbai: A 30-year-old man was killed when he tried to stop a fight between two groups during the immersion of a Durga idol in Virar on Thursday. Two groups from Sahakar Nagar got into a fight at 12.30am. Prakash Jha and Vikas Jha, who belonged to one group, were being thrashed by the other gang when Baijnath Sharma, known to the Jhas, tried to intervene.However, Sharma got thrashed with iron rods after which he died . A murder case has been filed against Nilesh Mali, Nitesh Mali, Akshay Giri, and six others . TNN
