MUMBAI: The city police on Tuesday arrested a 25-year-old ex-BPO employee from Chembur for allegedly making a hoax threat call to the Mumbai International Airport. The accused called the airport and identified himself as Irfan Ahmed Sheikh and claimed that he was allegedly a member of the terror outfit Indian Mujahideen.

The caller was traced to Janata Nagar in Chembur hours after the accused, who revealed his real name, made the call. "Sheikh used his mother's mobile phone to make the call. The probe is on to determine the exact motive behind Sheikh making the threat call and identifying himself as an IM member. Prima facie, it appears that Sheikh suffers from a mental illness," said a police officer from the Sahar police station.
