MUMBAI: A sessions
court
on Monday convicted a
man
of killing his
wife
in 2013 and sentenced him to
life
imprisonment.
The accused, Salman Shaikh, was found guilty of murdering and disposing of the body of his wife, Parvin. His mother and one other accused were acquitted.
The police said a complaint was filed against the Chunabhatti resident by his mother-in-law. In her statement before the court she said the accused used to abuse her daughter.
She said the matter came to light in March 2013 when two people said they saw Shaikh carrying a gunny bag. She went to the police when she could not find her daughter.
