MUMBAI: The lifeless body of an unidentified man was found hanging from the skywalk across from the BMC's N Ward office in Ghatkopar, Mumbai on Monday afternoon.
The police are investigating it as a possible suicide case.
Upon receiving information, the Pant Nagar Police arrived at the location with fire brigade personnel and ambulance services.
After retrieving the body from the skywalk, authorities transported it to a nearby medical facility for examination.
The identity of the deceased individual remains unknown to authorities.
"We are investigating the matter and obtained some preliminary information. Further details will emerge after we gather more evidence," said Vijaykant Sagar, DCP, Zone 7.
The incident has raised apprehension amongst area residents who regularly use this heavily used skywalk.
The police are perplexed that no one observed the body on the skywalk during the incident.
Authorities are currently examining local CCTV recordings and interviewing potential witnesses to establish the chronological order of events.
The official confirmation regarding the cause of death will be released after the completion of the post-mortem examination.
