MUMBAI: A 30-something commuter fell off a local train and got wedged between the tracks and a periphery wall near Kurla station around 10 pm on Thursday. It took railway officials some time to extricate the man due to which local trains on CR (Main) slow corridor were delayed by at least 30 minutes.
The man, whose identity was not known till the time of filing this report, has sustained "severe" injuries below the knees, and is in hospital.

The railway police said they suspect that the man jumped off the CSMT-Kalyan train.
As trains were delayed, commuters jumped onto the tracks and walked to the nearest station. Officials said services resumed at 10.30 pm.
In a related development, train services between Kasara and Kalyan were hit due to water-logging on tracks near Kasara which witnessed heavy rain.
