MUMBAI: A few days after parents of students studying at Dr S Radhakrishnan Vidyalaya in Malad (W) submitted a written complaint to the police chief about harassment of their children, the Malad police called a meeting between the school and parents. But the management sent out a letter to the cops at the last minute, asking them to defer the meet till July 5.
“We weren’t surprised when the school management backed out at the very last minute,” said one of the parents. For almost a year now, a group of parents have been protesting against the “arbitrary” school fee hike and have refused to pay the fees. Over time, they had complained to the Malad police about their kids being humiliated in class. “The meeting will be held in the school on Saturday at 5pm,” said senior inspector Avinash Jadhav.
