MUMBAI: The state will seek monetary help from the Centre for constructing the Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link, now that it has decided to build it on a cash contract basis, said chief minister Prithviraj Chavan on Friday.

"We shall be discussing with him the proposed airports at Navi Mumbai and Chakan, the redevelopment of slums on salt pan lands, the elevated rail corridor and other things," he said.
On the Aligarh Muslim University centre in the state, he said it would be set up in Khultabad.
On the forthcoming Lok Sabha election, he said both the Congress and the NCP would fight it together. "A very fractured mandate will not be good for the country," he said.
He said the government would work towards ensuring that the human development index report is presented every five years.
"The report would help the government to better set its priorities," he said.
