Maharashtra relief & rehabilitation department to be nodal agency for Ukraine updates

On Thursday, chief minister Uddhav Thackeray directed the administration to coordinate with the Centre and to ensure the safe return of students and others from Maharashtra who are stuck in Ukraine.

Higher and technical education minister Uday Samant has already written to the prime minister's Office, the external affairs minister to safely rescue 1,200 students from Maharashtra stuck in Ukraine.
MUMBAI: The Maharashtra relief and rehabilitation department at Mantralaya will be the nodal agency for all information with regard to students and others from Maharashtra stuck in Ukraine, said Deepak Kapoor, Director General Information and Public Relations (DGIPR), Maharashtra.
Kapoor said a liasoning desk is being set up at Maharashtra Sadan in Delhi that will coordinate with the External Affairs Ministry and with the state nodal agency.

As per the External Affairs Ministry said sources the exact number of persons stuck in Ukraine is still unknown and work of collecting information is underway.
