Maharashtra: Radheshyam Mopalwar named DG war room for infra projects

Chief minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday appointed veteran bureaucrat Radheshyam Mopalwar as the Director General (War Room Infrastructure Projects) with immediate effect. A special post has been created for Mopalwar to ensure speedy and time-bound implementation of infrastructure projects across the state.

MUMBAI: Chief minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday appointed veteran bureaucrat Radheshyam Mopalwar as the Director General (War Room Infrastructure Projects) with immediate effect. A special post has been created for Mopalwar to ensure speedy and time-bound implementation of infrastructure projects across the state.
An IAS officer of the 1995 batch, Mopalwar retired on February 28, 2018.

Then he was MD, Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation and he will continue to hold that post. Currently, Mopalwar is monitoring the Rs 55,000-crore Nagpur-Mumbai superexpressway, along with Varsova-Bandra sea link, Rs 7,000-crore Mumbai-Pune Expressway missing link and Rs 800-crore Thane Creek bridge project.
For Mopalwar, the biggest challenge was the Nagpur-Mumbai express way, a dream project of the then Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who is now the deputy CM. According to a bureaucrat, along with these ongoing projects, new projects, which involve large-scale acquisition of land will be entrusted to Mopalwar.
