YAVATMAL: Police today booked Maharashtra Social Justice Minister Shivajirao Moghe and his two associates in a case of alleged cheating.
The three were booked under IPC Section 420 (cheating) a week after a local court asked the police to probe a criminal compliant filed against them and submit a report in 60 days.
Judicial Magistrate K S Kulkarni gave the directive after hearing a petition filed by Ainuddin Solanki, Sarpanch of village Kurli.

Solanki had named Moghe, his nephew Vijay and ex-PA Devanand Pawar in the complaint.
"We have registered the offence under Section 420 of IPC against the Minister (Shivajirao), his nephew Vijay Moghe and his ex-PA Devanand Pawar," Investigating Officer Sajerao Gaikwad said.
According to Solanki, he had allegedly paid Rs 42 lakh on two occasions (in 2000 and 2001) to Moghe and his associates for getting government sanction for an ashram (tribal) school and a Marathi medium D Ed college proposed to be set up by him (Solanki) when Moghe was transport minister.
However, Moghe failed to fulfill his alleged assurance given to Solanki in this regard. According to the petition, Solanki tried to contact Moghe and his aides for the school and college sanction on a number of occasions but to no avail.
Solanki filed a complaint on July 4, 2011 with the Wadgaon Road police against the trio. As the police failed to act on the complaint, Solanki moved the court.
Meanwhile, Solanki was on Thursday last booked by the police at Parwa for allegedly lodging a false complaint against a zilla parishad member and fabricating official documents to substantiate his allegations.
