MUMBAI: Eyebrows are being raised over governor
Bhagat Singh Koshyari
quietly visiting the Pali Hill residence of
Milind Narvekar
of the
Shiv Sena and former Congress minister Kripa Shankar Singh on the eve of the 10-day Ganesh festival.
Narvekar, the powerful Shiv Sena secretary, is the personal assistant to
chief minister Uddhav Thackeray
. Singh, a born Congressman, is on the way to the BJP. Narvekar and Singh live in the same building.
Koshyari reached their homes in the morning and interacted with their family. All-out efforts were made to keep the visit a secret, but the attempt did not succeed.
In the recent past, Narvekar had made several attempts to mend relations between
Raj Bhavan
and Thackeray. Narvekar is vying for the nomination from the governor for a seat in the the legislative council.
A Shiv Sena functionary said that Thackeray was avoiding the governor and was at loggerheads with him over crucial issues, including the holding of graduate and postgraduate examinations. Koshyari had expressed displeasure over the view not to hold exams taken by the CM.
Singh he left the Congress, is looking for rehabilitation. He will either return to the Congress or join the BJP.
