Maharashtra government announces recruitment to over 70,000 govt posts

Mumbai: The Maharashtra government on Monday announced the recruitment of over 70,000 government posts. Around 20,000 of the posts will be recruited through the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC).Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said the recruitment will be carried out in a new manner. He gave instructions to make decisions based on the required skills, service entry, qualifications and the nature of work while implementing the recruitment process. All-round administrative reforms should be implemented quickly in important departments of the state administration. Transparency in human resource management and the recruitment process will be a priority, he said.Fadnavis also said that the decision regarding the revision of the service entry rules of the state government will be taken soon in the cabinet meeting. After filling over 70,000 posts in various departments of the state government, the efficiency of the department will be enhanced, he said.He suggested focusing on developing an online and digital verification model to avoid unnecessary documents, long queues, and delays in the recruitment process. If online verification of sensitive documents like passports is possible, this model can be used in other processes as well. For this, every department should make appropriate arrangements to provide certificates in the DigiLocker system along with the blockchain method, the CM said. The entire process should be transparent and reliable so that there is no suspicion, bias or injustice in the recruitment process.He also stated that Maharashtra's manpower management model presented at a chief ministers' conference in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was widely appreciated, and the PM suggested that other states adopt the model.
