MUMBAI: The Election Commission of India has declared the poll plan for elections to the graduates and teachers constituencies from the state. As per the poll schedule, notification will be issued on January 5, polling will be held on January 30 and counting will take place on February 2.
Congress member Sudhir Tambe (Nashik graduates seat), BJP's Ranjeet Patil (Amravati graduates seat), NCP's Vikram Patil (Aurangabad teachers' seat), PWP's Balaram Patil (Konkan teachers' seat) and BJP's Nagorao Ganar (Nagpur teachers' seat) are retiring on February 7.
The Congress is likely to renominate Tambe, while BJP is likely to nominate revenue minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil's brother Rajendra Vikhe Patil. BJP has declared the candidature of Ranjeet Patil from Amravati, and Congress may nominate ex-minister Sunil Deshmukh or Milind Chimote.
