MUMBAI: Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray and his family paid their tributes at the Bal Thackeray Smruti Sthal at Shivaji Park on Tuesday, marking the eight death anniversary of his father and the founder of Shiv Sena.
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, Uddhav Thackeray had urged all Shiv Sainiks to not throng Shivaji Park to pay their tributes and instead pay their respects from their homes or Shiv Sena Shakhas.
Thackeray was joined by his wife Rashmi, sons Aaditya and Tejas and senior leaders like Sanjay Raut, former CM Manohar Joshi, Anil Desai. NCP leader and former Shiv Sainik Chhagan Bhujbal too visited the memorial. However, so far not a single leader from the BJP visited Shivaji Park.
"The reality that Balasaheb is not with us is painful, but his guidance is always with us. The Sena is still and will always continue to stand firm for Hindutva and the pride of Maharashtra and the Marathi Manoos," said Raut.
