Maharashtra Cab Strike Live Updates: An app-based cab drivers’ union has called for a hunger strike unto death from Monday, intensifying its protest against alleged inaction by authorities on illegal bike taxi operations and fare violations by aggregator companies. The demonstration will begin at Azad Maidan in Mumbai and extend to other cities, including Pune and Nagpur.
Union leader Keshav Kshirsagar claimed that despite multiple directives from the transport department, companies like Ola, Uber, and Rapido continue to operate in violation of regulations. The companies, however, have denied these allegations. Drivers have expressed frustration over what they describe as the government’s ineffective response, stating that repeated protests have failed to bring change.
