Locals protest week after Kalyan dump blaze, demand its closure

KALYAN: A week after a fire broke out at Adharwadi dumping ground in Kalyan, those residing in the vicinity demanded that dumping of trash there be stopped at once. Locals protested outside the civic headquarters on Monday under the banner of an association, 'Dumping Ground Hatao Sangharsh Samiti'.
Rajesh Joshi, a member, said, "We are facing health issues due to dumping of garbage." New civic chief Govind Bodke assured them that he would soon resolve the issue.-Pradeep Gupta
