Locals beat up dumper driver

The driver of a dumper was beaten up by villagers of Rai in Bhayander after the speeding vehicle hit a motorcycle on Friday night, injuring the rider critically.

BHAYANDER: The driver of a dumper was beaten up by villagers of Rai in Bhayander after the speeding vehicle hit a motorcycle on Friday night, injuring the rider critically.
The incident took place around 10 pm when Ruban Paul (22), a resident of Utan in Bhayander (W), was headed for Bhayander station on his two-wheeler. As he reached Raigaon, the dumper, speeding down from the opposite direction, banged into the motorcycle.

The impact of the collision was such that Paul was flung off his vehicle and he landed a few metres away.
Residents of the area chased the dumper down as its driver, Ramesh Yadav (33), tried to flee. They rained blows on Yadav before handing him over to the Bhayander police and also pelted stones at the glass windows of the dumper.
According to eye witnesses, Paul was not injured in the head as he was wearing a helmet. He is currently recuperating at Riddhi Siddhi Hospital in Bhayander.
Soon after the accident, villagers began intercepting every dumper on the route. They even caught a driver, who did not have a licence.
