MUMBAI: Local politicians of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) along with INDIA Bloc parties, including the Congress, NCP (SCP), CPI-M, and PWPI organised a rally at Azad Maidan in South Mumbai on Friday, to protest the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister
Arvind Kejriwal by the
Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the liquor scam. Around 100 people had attended the rally.
Local leaders from these parties, including AAP city chief Preeti Sharma Menon, Congress city president Varsha Gaikwad, MLC Bhai Jagtap, NCP (SCP) city chief Rakhee Jadhav, Shailendra Kamble (CPI-M), and Samya Korde (PWPI), participated in the rally.
The AAP stated that the joint 'Satyagraha' was organized to protest the "illegal and unjustified" arrest of Kejriwal. The INDIA Bloc parties reaffirmed their commitment to a united struggle against the "tyranny" of the Modi government.
Preeti Sharma Menon, AAP city chief, emphasized that the protest was not solely about Kejriwal or the Aam Aadmi Party, but represented a broader struggle against the Modi government's actions. She expressed confidence that the INDIA Bloc parties would unite to defeat the BJP and end Modi's "tyrannical rule."
