Three new coronavirus cases found in Maharashtra; number rises to 52

Three new cases of coronavirus infection were detected in Maharashtra on Friday, taking the number of confirmed cases in the state to 52, state Health Minister Rajesh Tope said here. The new cases came to light in Mumbai, Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. The minister, meanwhile, promised that the number of coronavirus testing facilities will be doubled to 12 in the next ten days.

One more coronavirus positive case reported in Telangana, count touches 17

One more covid-19 positive case was reported in Telangana on Friday. The latest to test positive is an 18 year old girl with a travel history to London. With the latest, total count is now at 17. The 18-year-old girl is a resident of Hyderabad with travel history of arrival from London. "The patient was referred from a private hospital and presently admitted at TB & Chest Hospital, Hyderabad. Her condition is stable," as per a health bulletin issued by the state government.

The Delhi high court on Friday decided to extend till April 3 the ongoing restrictions on its functioning in view of the coronavirus outbreak. A circular issued by the high court made public its decision. The circular also indicated the judges who would be conducting proceedings during the period of restricted functioning.

114 travelers from Dubai quarantined in Pune

As many as 114 passengers who arrived here from Dubai by a SpiceJet flight on Friday were put in mandatory quarantine though no passenger on the aircraft showed any major symptoms of coronavirus, a senior official said. Another passenger, who had mild cough, was taken to the civic-run Naidu Hospital, the official said. All passengers coming from Dubai are kept under observation irrespective of their health condition.

Maharashtra: Man booked for spreading false information on Covid-19

A case was registered against a man in Maharashtra's Kolhapur district for allegedly posting false information on WhatsApp about two couples being infected by coronavirus, police said on Friday. The man posted false information on a WhatsApp group that two couples from Ichalkaranji had tested positive for coronavirus and were shifted to Kolhapur, an official said.
