JEE Main was moderately tough: Students

Mumbai: Thousands of engineering aspirants who took JEE Main’s second session on Thursday found the exam to be moderately tough. From physics, which was the easiest and had questions from the class XI syllabus, to chemistry, which was moderately tough, and math, which posed a high level of difficulty, candidates said the test saw a coming back of face masks too as Covid-19 cases are on the rise.The morning and afternoon sessions had a total of 90 questions and total marks of JEE Main Paper-1 was 300. The questions covered almost all chapters of Class XI and XII CBSE board. “It was a balanced paper as per students in terms of coverage of chapters. Also, students reported that the paper in the morning shift was similar to the January session,” said Ramesh Batlish, centre head of a coaching class.Meanwhile, Bombay HC heard a PIL by parent-activist Anubha Sahai who challenged the eligibility criteri-on of 75% in class XII exam. The HC quizzed National Te-sting Agency, which conduc-ts JEE Main, on the purpose of setting the minimum eligibility when there was already a qualifying exam, and sought an affidavit. tnn
