Fire at ND studio

A massive fire erupted in the famous ND studio located at Karjat in Maharashtra on Friday afternoon. It is owned by noted Indian art director Nitin Chandrakant Desai. According to preliminary information, the fire broke out near the old sets of the Bollywood magnum opus Jodhaa Akbar. A major portion of the sets has been destroyed due to the blaze, which started around 12 noon. Firefighters rushed to the spot as soon as the mishap was reported and it took almost an hour and a half to bring the fire under control.

Fire at Bhiwandi chemical godown

A major fire broke out at a chemical godown in the Bhiwandi area of the Thane district. The incident took place today at noon at a Chemical Godown in the Mankoli area. 'BMC betrayed us'

At a time when Mumbai is being praised for a drop in numbers, resident doctors working in BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) hospitals, who are on the frontline, working round the clock to serve COVID-19 patients, are now fighting to get their dues. The resident doctors have launched a campaign to protest against the denial of stipend arrears. To protest, several doctors on duty carried a placard that read 'BMC Betrayed Us' and 'Betrayed, Still Working'. These doctors are currently working at Sion Hospital, KEM Hospital, and Nair Hospital.

People stood in a queue outside Parel's KEM hospital on Friday to get their dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. While most of them had booked their slot on the CoWIN portal, those who had arrived at the centre without prior online registration were turned back by the officials.
