Mumbai horror: Man murders wife and son, then hangs them to mislead police

MUMBAI: A day after a woman and her eight-year-old son were found hanging at their residence in Kandivali East, police have arrested the woman's husband on charges of murder.

Shivshankar Dutt, the accused, told the police that he suspected his wife, Pushpa, of infidelity. Their only son, Sayan, had witnessed his father murdering his mother.

Dutt then killed his son and hanged both of them to mislead the police. He initially told investigators that he was away at work when his wife and child hanged themselves.

However police found loopholes in his statements. Sayan, a class 2 student, was academically bright.
