MUMBAI:Those seeking protection will have to shell out more money for the policemen, especially the constables, stated the latest data released by the home minister
R R Patil’s office.
The department has raised the tariff for police protection for individual citizens and private organizations by 59% to 106%, depending on the category under which the case falls.
For individuals seeking protection, the rate for an inspector has been hiked from Rs 1,369 to Rs 2,158 and for private organizations, the figure has been hiked from Rs 1,125 to Rs 1,831. Similarly, an indocudual will have to pay Rs 1,169 to constable, who earlier would charge Rs 574. A private organization will now have to shell out Rs 1,022 instead of the earlier Rs 497.
