Jan Sangh founder Shyama PrasadMookerjee’s death anniversary, which falls on June 23, will be used as the occasion to launch the offensive.</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-size:="">Although the BJP has tried to make it appear as if Vajpayee’s criticism of Gujarat CM Narendra Modi is over and done with, the two main factions in the party will be at loggerheads against the backdrop of the RSS coming out openly in support of Modi. </span><br /><br /><span style="" font-size:="">In fact, Vajpayee’s recent Manali statement on the Gujarat riots, which is to be discussed at the coming conclave, has drawn the battle lines. BJP sources indicate that there will be fireworks on account of this.</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-size:="">The BJP bigwigs, including party president Venkaiah Naidu, will arrive in Mumbai on June 21. Vajpayee and Advani will be escorted by the authorities from the airport straight to the venue for security reasons. Modi’s schedule will be a closely guarded secret so as to ensure that no untoward event, like demonstrations, takes place.</span></div> </div>
