Police prevent teenager from ending her life

Mumbai: Naigaon police on Wednesday stopped a 16-year-old girl from ending her life. Around 9am, the girl's family called on the emergency helpline ‘112' and said she had locked the door and was about to hang herself with a dupatta. Police constable Santosh Ghuge rushed over, broke open the door, and rescued the girl. She was later counselled.
According to the girl's mother, the teenager was upset after being scolded for not doing household chores.
