Acting Chief Justice Nitin Jamdar and Justice Arif Doctor heard a PIL by Shaila Kanthe to direct the state to initiate criminal action against those responsible and also for a CBI investigation.

Advocate general Birendra Saraf submitted an investigation report and said that statements of witnesses were being recorded. He said the investigation was at an advanced stage and a final report would soon be ready.

“That being the position, we do not find any warrant to issue any direction in respect of the prayers sought as the investigation is already in progress and is at an advanced stage,” the judges said in the order, and disposed of the PIL.
