Four held in a house breaking into ex CM's institute

The city crime branch on Friday on Friday cracked the house breaking theft case of Kokane Kohinoor technical institute in Dadar from where the accused had stolen cash of Rs 45 lakhs last month. Police have recovered Rs 1O lakhs cash and a scorpio the accused had brought from the money.

MUMBAI: The city crime branch on Friday on Friday cracked the house breaking theft case of Kokane Kohinoor technical institute in Dadar from where the accused had stolen cash of Rs 45 lakhs last month. Police have recovered Rs 1O lakhs cash and a scorpio the accused had brought from the money.
Last month the Kokane Kohinoor technical institute officials had filed a complaint with the Dadar police that somebody had broke into the office and had decamped away with cash of Rs 45 lakhs from the safe.

The institute which is situated at Senapati Bapat Marg at Dadar belongs to former chief minister of Maharashta Manohar Joshi. During the examination it appeared that a duplicate key was used to open the safe.
Acting on the tip off the crime branch unit 12 on Friday arrested four persons identified as Popat Shirsagar, Dhanaji Waghmode, Shankar Korea and Popat Sarak. Deputy commissioner of police Dhananjay Kulkarni said that one of the four accused used to work as a clerical staff had made a duplicate keys and he along with his associate hatched a conspiracy and carried a house breaking.
On Friday the crime branch unit 12 got a tip off that the accused were likely to assembled in Borivli from where the police arrested four accused. Police recovered a brand new scorpio jeep and Rs 10 lakhs from their possession. Police said that the rest of money were equally divided between the four accused. Police are trying to recover the remaining money.
