FIR on Bandra dermatologist for using 'fake medical certs'

MUMBAI: Bandra police on Tuesday booked dermatologist Dr Ruby Tandon for allegedly using fake medical certificates to run Shiffa Wellness. No arrest was made till Wednesday.

The FIR was registered after BMC's assistant medical officer Dr Deepak Chavan, on a tipoff, visited the dermatology clinic in Bandra (W) along with the police and asked Dr Tandon to produce her certificates. During online verification, the team found that the certificates were not issued in her name; the certificate issued by Maharashtra Medical Co-uncil was in the name of Dr Rupinder Tandon, the one issued by the Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine Medical Doctor License was in the name of Dr Rupinderpal Dhaliwal and the one issued by Medical Council of India was in the name of Dr Rupinder Tandon Jagat Dhaliwal. "They have been sent for verification to the medical council. If found to be fake, action will be initiated against her," said senior inspector Sanjay Marathe. Her husband, Amit Tandon, didn't respond to TOI's calls. tnn
