Mumbai: FIR by minister Nawab Malik’s son after person demands Rs 3 crore in bitcoins ‘for release’

The Vinoba Bhave Nagar police in Kurla East have registered an FIR against an unknown person for allegedly demanding Rs 3 crore in bitcoins from Amir Malik to get his father, minister Nawab Malik, out on bail.

MUMBAI: The Vinoba Bhave Nagar police in Kurla East have registered an FIR against an unknown person for allegedly demanding Rs 3 crore in bitcoins from Amir Malik to get his father, minister Nawab Malik, out on bail.
The case was registered on March 16 after Malik’s son Amir received a mail from a person who identified himself as Imtiyaaz. “The FIR has been registered under Indian Penal Code sections for impersonation and cheating against an unknown person,” said a police officer of V B Nagar police station.
