MUMBAI: Two sub-inspectors were injured after a externed criminal's brother rammed his car into them in Dharavi on Saturday. The cops had gone to Dharavi to arrest the criminal, Afsar Azad, on receiving a tipoff. Afsar was with his brother Akhtar in a car with the latter behind the wheel.
“On Saturday , we received a tip-off that Afsar had come to Dharavi. Sub-inspectors Gaikwad and Bagul went to arrest him near the T-Junction area and spotted him with his brother, Akhtar, in a car,” said inspector Suryakant Bangar.
After Akhtar rammed the car into the cops, Bagul chased and nabbed him. Afsar managed to give the cops the slip. However, on Sunday, the police arrested Afsar too.
The police said that Afsar was externed from the limits of Dharavi a year ago.
