MUMBAI: Eight persons were killed and four of them were seriously injured when a jeep carrying passengers from Pune to Nashik collided with a state transport bus on the Pune-Nashik highway at Manchar area near Pune late on Saturday.
According to the state traffic control, all eight person who died are from Shahpur in Thane who had hired the tourist jeep to Nashik.
The deceased have been identified as Muqtar Shaikh (25), Gopal Ramchandran (51), Sarika Amburgude (25), Pundalik Laxman (35), Vandana Dalpe (45), Dhamu Umbargude (60), Bapu Dhalne (50) and his daughter Anuma Dhalne (23).
The police said the injured have been rushed to a nearby government hospital.
