MUMBAI: A 32-year-old woman was killed after a dumper crashed into her motorcycle on the New Link Road at Kandivli on Thursday.

The dumper driver has been booked by the Charkop police. Neha Pandya, the deceased, was a widow. She lived with a cousin at Charkop for the past two-and-a-half years and worked in the imitation jewellery industry.

On Thursday, Pandya was riding a motorcycle on New Link Road. Around 1pm, she was crossing the traffic signal at Vasant Complex when a dumper rammed into her motorcycle. Pandya suffered serious head injuries in the crash. She was rushed to the Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital in Kandivli where she succumbed to her injuries.

Police later registered a case of negligence against the dumper driver identified as Rahul Jagtap, 28.
