A 23-year-old resident of Bainganwadi in Shivaji Nagar was murdered by his friend after he refused to pay the accused Rs 200 for liquor around 12 am on Monday.

MUMBAI: A 23-year-old resident of Bainganwadi in Shivaji Nagar was murdered by his friend after he refused to pay the accused Rs 200 for liquor around 12 am on Monday.
The deceased, Khwaja Sharif Syed (23), is an autorickshaw driver. The culprit, Iqbal Sheikh (23), is unemployed and had allegedly demanded Rs 200 from Syed. However, Syed’s mother, who witnessed the conversation, pushed Sheikh and insulted him for demanding money from his son.

An altercation took place between Syed and Sheikh, who was in an inebriated state.
Dundapa Satyapa Jodgujari , senior inspector, Shivaji Nagar Police said, “The incident happened at 12.30 am on Monday. The deceased was declared before admission at Rajawadi municipal hospital.” The police have arrested Sheikh.
