The truck driver, who had fled away on Wednesday after running over cricketer Vinod Kambli's sister-in-law Vishaka Vidyadhar, was nabbed by the Kanjurmarg police on Thursday.

MUMBAI: The truck driver, who had fled away on Wednesday after running over cricketer Vinod Kambli's sister-in-law Vishaka Vidyadhar, was nabbed by the Kanjurmarg police on Thursday afternoon.
The driver, Nirbhay Kumar Singh (22), was arrested after the police pressured his employer���Bhatia Transport���which owns the cement mixer truck.

I wanted to take a left turn and the bumper of my truck hit the motorcycle. I saw a man falling and I did not realise that a woman had come under the wheels. I saw the woman covered in blood and fearing lynching from the public, I fled," Singh told the police.
Investigating officer S P Bhoite said,���We have arrested Singh for causing death due to negligence and rash driving. He has been sent for a medical test to find out whether he was drunk."
Vishaka, a resident of Indira Nagar in Kanjurmarg, is survived by her husband and two school-going children. Vishakha used to work as a teacher at a school for the deaf and dumb in Byculla.
Vidyadhar used to drop Vishaka on his bike at Kanjurmarg station from where she used to take train for Byculla. On Wednesday, as the Vidyadhars were on their way to the station on the service road near Eastern Express Highway when a truck rammed into them.
While Vishaka died on the spot, passing motorists rushed Vidyadhar to Rajawadi hospital where he was treated and discharged.
