MUMBAI: A woman working in a pharma company was threatened with "digital arrest" by cyber fraudsters and forced to strip over a video call under the pretext of undergoing "body verification".

On her complaint, the Dahisar police registered an FIR and then transferred the case to Andheri Police as the offence occurred in the latter's jurisdiction. No arrest has been made so far.

The incident occurred between Nov 19 and 20, police said. Fraudsters posing as Delhi Police officers got in touch with the complainant.

They scared her into believing that a money laundering probe was going on against her. The fraudsters forced her to book a hotel room. Keeping her engaged in conversation, they defrauded her of Rs 1.7 lakh online
