Covid-19: Maharashtra assures Bombay HC it will soon start home vaccination for elderly

The State Advocate General assured the Bombay high court on July 1 that Maharashtra would take steps for home vaccination of citizens who cannot visit the Covid-19 vaccination centres due to old age or disabilities.

MUMBAI: The State Advocate General assured the Bombay high court on July 1 that Maharashtra would take steps for home vaccination of citizens who cannot visit the Covid-19 vaccination centres due to old age or disabilities.
Ashutosh Kumbhakoni had sought some time for the state to work out appropriate guidelines.
A Bench of Chief Justice Dipankar Datta and Justice Girish Kulkarni had heard a PIL filed by advocate Dhruti Kapadia for doorstep jabs to the elderly in the chamber on Thursday, along with a presentation made by State Covid Task Force chief Dr Sanjay Oak.

In its order uploaded on Saturday, it said that Kumbhakoni has also assured that the state would not wait for the Central Government’s approval to start the home vaccination drive.
