‘Cruise drugs case accused can go abroad’

Mumbai: Considering she is a model by profession and it is necessary for her to travel abroad for her work, a special NDPS court has allowed 28-year-old Munmun Dhamecha, an accused in the 2021 cruise drugs case, to travel to Thailand. Dhamecha has been out on bail.
Allowing her plea, the special judge said she is to submit her itinerary to Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) before travelling abroad.“...accused to mark her attendance before this court as soon as she returns from abroad,” it said. Dhamecha was allowed to travel from Friday until Jan 31. NCB had opposed her plea and submitted the trial is yet to commence. However, Dhamecha’s lawyer Shirish Shigwan submitted she is from a middle-class family and her only source of earning was through modelling. She was arrested on Oct 3, 2021.tnn
