Cops probe for foul play in actor’s suicide

MUMBAI: With the postmortem report of Bhojpuri actress Anjali Srivastava (29) showing she died of asphyxiation due to hanging, DN Nagar police are probing if there was foul play. She was last seen on the premises of Parimal Society in Juhu Lane around Sunday noon.
The death came to light when Anjali’s flatowner opened it using a spare key. “She had called her parents around 11am, hours before she took the extreme step.She has spoken to them for a long time. They did not realize is she was suffering from depression,” said an officer of DN Nagar police station, which has registered a case of suicide.
“The post-mortem report showed she died due to hanging,” the officer added. Police are recording the statements of the building residents where Anjali lived for the last two years on rent.
