Cop booked for sex assault on woman

Mumbai: The Worli police recently booked an assistant police inspector for allegedly sexually assaulting a 32-year-old woman who stayed in his neighbourhood. The woman had first lodged a molestation complaint against the accused in Sep last year.
She recently approached the police saying she was also sexually assaulted by the accused officer. The woman had told police that in 2020, when she was out with her son, she had first met the accused near a bus stop. The accused told her he could help enrol her son in the police swimming pool club. He then took her number and began messaging her.
The woman said he would send her messages and even make video calls. During a call, he allegedly convinced her to disrobe and took screenshots. Last year, he went to her house and allegedly threatened to show her husband her pictures. The woman alleged that when she had gone to her native place, the accused made calls and sent her messages. The accused moved court which granted him interim bail. Further probe is on. tnn
