The accused have been identified as Nilesh Mehta (40), Vishal Doshi (34) and Paresh Shah (45). Mehta is a resident of Kandivli (W), Doshi lives at Babhai in Borivli (W) while Shah is a Mira Road resident.
In 2008, the three accused approached the Borivli branch of the bank with forged documents. The bank approved a loan of Rs 16.38 lakh. "For six months, they paid the instalments but then stopped,'' Gaikwad said.
Later, the bank found their address was fake.
