it is said that janmashtami always brings in rain. true to the word, the rains poured on sunday august 12. and to make matters interesting, the second connect-ticket club meeting was arranged on that day. that too at 1 pm. the venue was the same as in the first meeting -- a ganpati temple at bandra reclamation. the question was how many people would turn up.
1x1 polls
they did turn up -- 25 of them. this comprised many new members, curious to know what this club was all about. there were people from the reclamation area itself. it was extremely heartening to see people from all walks of life, making a commitment to devote time and energy to a noble cause. among those who assembled there were practitioners of reiki, feng shui, shlokas, hymns, even kundalini yoga. the aim of the club is to create a force of energy, a movement, and comprises people having the attitude of helping others. the assembly on that sunday was ample proof that the movement was gathering momentum. we took up the healing of a lady afflicted with knee pain. after a healing session of ten minutes, she walked, sat down on the floor (earlier she preferred sitting on the chair) and generally felt her pain decreasing. there will be fluctuations in her pain, but her healing process has started for sure. a child who took healing was four-year-old shreyas kulkarni, who has cerebral palsy. he is taking acupressure, ayurveda and physiotherapy treatments at present. his blood has also been changed. the progress has, however, been slow. though there weren't any immediate changes in shreyas after the session, there were two heartening changes the next day, according to his grandmother: one, he insisted on having tea -- something he has never done before, and two, his reactions have become better. these may sound very trivial, but for a patient with cerebral palsy, these are big changes. so, the movement carries on, with more like-minded people joining in. if you want to join, email with your contact details and reasons for joining. update on ratnej belwalkar: this six year-old boy having liver cirhossis is much better now. his swelling has reduced appreciably and he is able to sit up. it just proves that our prayers are definitely working. prayer request 1: satyaprakash verma, 40, has liver cirhossis and his condition is critical. a k khare has requested prayers for him. prayer request 2: yasmin kapadia-dittia has requested prayers for her son, keiwan. he is 3 years, 5 months old and has been suffering from acute asthma and allergy since he was six- months old. keiwan had also undergone hernia surgery when he was a month old and last july suffered from rectal prolapse, which fortunately has been treated successfully. she would like him to be healed of all his problems and would like to learn how to do so.
