MUMBAI: Congress workers staged demonstrations in various parts of the city on Thursday, protesting against the arrest of general secretary Rahul Gandhi.
Ashok Sutradhari, along with 40 other party workers, carried out protests at Borivli (West).
At Vile Parle East, MLA Krishna Hegde demonstrated with 60 supporters between 11.30 and 11.50 am. Youth Congress chairman for North Mumbai, Devendra Shirodkar, demonstrated at the Mith Chowky junction in Bangur Nagar with 27 supporters.
Many party workers were detained under provisions of the Bombay Police Act but were released after a warning to maintain peace.
